Team FAQ

What is Team War?

Team War is a collaborative effort among members to create music together despite the limits of geography. Any two or more members can form a team and enter into competition against other teams. Teams have their own shared disk space and private message board so that they can coordinate their efforts.

How does a team get started?

Someone has an idea for a team, and then creates a team name and description in the "Your Teams" section of Your House. This member then becomes the team's manager. The manager invites other members. When the other members check the Your Teams section of their own Your House, they will see the invitations and will have access to the team discussion board. Once a least one person joins the team, the manager can then register the team, which will put them on the roster and open up file space for sharing mp3s.

Who runs a team?

The person who creates the team becomes the team's manager. The manager can invite members to join the team and can drop members from the team. The manager is responsible for monitoring upcoming challenges and entering the team in wars.

How do I get on a team?

You have to be invited to join a team by the team's manager. If you are interested in joining a particular team, look up that team's manager on the team's stats page. If you want to see what teams are recruiting, go to the team forum in the main message board.

Can I vote on my team's wars?

What does it mean for a team to be registered?

Some teams never really get off the ground. Registration is the way we confirm that a team is really ready to compete. A team is not listed in the roster unless it is registered. Any team that has one member (besides the manager) can be registered automaticaly by the manager. Once the team is registered, file space will be allocated for the team to share files and the team will be allowed to enter wars.

Who can read the messages on my team's discussion board?

Any team member and anyone invited to join the team can read the team discussion board. Everyone with read access to a team discussion board is listed on the team board itself.

How do I share files with my teammates?

Every registered team has a shared file area in the team section of Your House. Simply upload files that you wish to share with your team. Your team manager should set a file naming scheme so that it is clear which files have what versions of which songs. Always keep a back up copy of your files. Files that are not used within 30 days will be regarded as test versions and will be deleted from the server automatically.
